the Artist

My workspace is a floating studio . . . peaceful and uplifting. The river beneath me inspires waves of creativity. I prep old boards and canvases with all kinds of texture. And then I just go with the flow . . .

My pallet paintings are done with those little paint pads you usually use on trim work around doors and windows. I load the pad with two or three colors and use big sweeping motions to fill the rough cedar “canvas” with waves and beaches.

Lately, I’ve been working with palette knives, combining mediums I’m not supposed to, mixing up the mixed media rules! Come to find out, there are no rules! Every swipe of the palette knife adds a different element and changes the landscape. I love experimenting and watching how the paint interacts with texture!
